I just purchased this bag from Amazon last week, and I love it! It arrived within two days, even though I selected the free shipping.
The quality is great,nice stitching, nice grain of leather, and it is VERY sturdy, but not too heavy. I saw this bag in Best Buys two weeks ago for $99.99, and it was $77. on Amazon!
I have a Toshiba 15.6 screen laptop and was worried about the size of the laptop compartment, but my laptop fit fine, and the laptop compartment closes like an envelope, with velcro all the way across the flap to secure my computer. I've never done an Amazon review, but this bag was so nice, I had to comment. Definitely feminine enough, and a welcome change from the briefcase/messenger bag.
The straps are cushioned and comfortable. There are pockets and compartments for accessories, makeup, cell phone, wallet, etc. This bag is attractive enough to double as a purse. I was even able to put my lunch and a bottle of water in the large compartment, and it was nice to only have to carry ONE BAG to work! I am already receiving compliments on the bag from my colleagues! I live in a cold climate, and the bag fit comfortably over my parka. The straps are a great length. If you have to sit the bag on the floor, it stands up straight and has feet on the bottom.
Nice job Solo Products. The ONLY drawback is that I was unable to find this bag in black. If a black one comes out, I will purchase it in a heartbeat!

The bag looks very professional. Nice stitch, good material. Lots and lots of pockets.
BUT

It will not fit a regular 15.6 inch laptop/netbook. I have a lenovo 15.6, and WILL FIT VERY VERY TIGHT.
The corners of the laptop sticks at the edges of the top of the bag, therefore, IF YOU EVER DROP the bag, LAPTOP goes bye bye.

Truly amazing good material, great feel to the bag, but the laptop pocket is too small to fit a regular 15.6 inch laptop/netbook. (its thick enough, but not high enough)...

It's a nice quick bag to grab if you are on the run. It just doesn't hold that much. I can barely fit a 5-subject and a 3-subject notebook in it. The pouch at the end of buckle strap by you right hip should have a water bottle pouch on the outside of it instead of that silly corner access whole for whatever mp3 play you 'would' put in the pouch. I wouldn't suggest putting one in there.

Or close enough. This bag is fantastic though. I've had it for half a year and have taken it on many trips. It holds more stuff than I ever wanted to bring, doesn't rip, has zipper pulls that don't get caught, and has the niftiest laptop holder. Yeah, I just said that.
It's a good bag. To test it out I stuck a kid in it and hauled him around the house just to get the feel of things. The straps are probably one of the best features I've seen on a bag. Very easy to adjust for people of all sizes, attached with nylon webbing so they can move around farther, and they come with a removable sternum strap.
I'm planning on taking it traveling with me in a few months and know it will stand the use. The only thing some people seem to be asking is if it is waterproof. Water resistant, definitely. The inside is, I think, pvc liner, and when you velcro the inside of the bag, pull down the top flap, and buckle the main strap, yes, it's water resistant. Rain probably won't get into your bag. I just took it for a weekend trip to San Francisco, and all my things were fine. If you were planning on taking it white water rafting or on some type of water excursion, no, it's not water proof, bring dry sacks.

This is a rather nice, comfortable, and super lightweight backpack. Unlike other similar backpacks, though, this has only 2 pockets. Most other Swiss Gear backpacks tend to have 3 pockets. That probably is a factor in the lighter weight.

The material is super tough and my previous Swiss Gear backpack lasted over 25 trips before it started showing signs of wear - it is still entirely usable, but the fabric is beginning to fray.

Please ignore the other review complaining of no padded sleeve for a notebook. He is right, of course, but this is not a valid complaint, since the description clearly represents that there is no such sleeve in this product. There are plenty of other Wenger/Swiss Gear backpacks that do provide that feature. Just not this one.

I bought this backpack for a recent photographic assignment to India where I had to carry my laptop with me at all times. Overall, I am very impressed with it - and several people I was traveling with were also impressed enough that they were planning to buy the same backpack when they got back to the States.
The main reason I chose this product was that it would be able to accommodate my DSLR with standard zoom lens, two spare lenses (including one 300mm telephoto) a small video camera (with five tapes), spare batteries and filters, power cables etc., and my laptop as well as providing some space for other items such as sweaters, papers etc.
It certainly has the capacity I needed and the lower section of the backpack that accommodates all the camera gear is easy to access, easy to organise and generally very well designed. The only complaint I have is that the upper section of the rucksack is quite difficult to access - not so bad that it's unusable, but I did end up simply stuffing things in there because the design of the opening is such that the flap doesn't really fold down. I managed to fit in a down vest, a flashlight, a couple of energy bars, some papers and my sunglasses but I had to pretty much empty the whole compartment to find anything I wanted. The laptop sleeve, on the other hand, provides plenty of space and you can store papers, magazines etc in there along with the laptop (as long as you can stand the extra weight!) The two side pockets are perfect for water/soda bottles, too, which is good because you wouldn't be able to get at them in the main compartment!
I didn't use it in the rain, so I have no idea whether its weatherproofing works. It certainly looks like it should, but the rubber strips on the laptop sleeve zip do make opening and closing that compartment a little fiddly. None of these issues would prevent me recommending this backpack though, as it really does do everything I wanted it to do. I didn't hike with it for any distance but it certainly performed well being thrown in and out of trucks and buses and seemed to provide excellent protection for my gear in some pretty uncomfortable environments.
One other note - if you're a bit of a contortionist, you can access your camera without removing the backpack. It's probably not advisable unless you're sure the rest of your gear won't come tumbling out when you open the flap but it does add a little extra functionality that you might need.

Generally, I am rather impressed with this bag. It is quite expensive however. Here are the details I wish somebody had reviewed before I made such an expensive backpack purchase.

1. Rather Large: The pack is fairly large (Volume = 24 Liters). The main compartment is rather deep. I usually keep a standard size clipboard in my bag. When I put the clipboard in, there is sill about 6 inches of space left at the top of the bag. That top section of empty space is basically good only for a sweatshirt as it is difficult to stack books vertically in a backpack.

2. Really Comfortable: The other day I had to pack two laptops into this thing (one in the laptop sleeve and the other in the main compartment). Needless to say, the pack was quite heavy. Nonetheless, it still wore rather comfortably. The straps really are cut great and the long length of the pack allows it to rest a bit on your rear end, taking some weight off the shoulders. A real great design.

3. Front Pockets: The top front pocket is only about 2 inches deep. For me, this pocket carries strictly pens and pencils. I have about ten in there right now and it is nearly full but not so packed that it bulges. The bottom front pocket is larger (6 or 7 inches deep). I carry a scientific calculator and a few odds and ends in there.

4. Main Zipper: The design on the main zipper is definitely unique as you can tell in the picture. When fully opened, it does feel a bit small, especially for how deep the main compartment is. I have been able to fit everything I need into it but when something is way down at the bottom of the pack, it may take a little finageling in order to fish it out.

5. Laptop Sleeve: Awesome. Really genius idea and super cool to slide your laptop out of the side. The peripheral sleeve on the other side works perfectly for my power cord and my wireless mouse.

6. Style: The pack is unique. It is longer than most other backpacks, subsequently making it look more thin as well. The unique top zipper adds some flare. At the same time it yet seems sophisticated enough to wear as a professional (at least the black color scheme). I am a teacher and feel like there is a definite "adult" characteristic to my bag that most of my students' bags lack.

Overall, this bag really is fantastic. The price is steep but I'm hoping it will last me for a good 5-10 years.
